Mary-Kate Olsen is starring in a new movie. MK was seen in NY at the set of her new movie, "The Wackness", wearing some serious hair gear.

Residents along Columbia Heights received a memo from Shapiro Levine Productions, LLC, saying the are "honored to be filming scenes" for their newest production, "The Wackness", starring Ben Kingsley (who starred in "Ghandi") and directed by Jonathan Levine. Filming will take place along the Promenade at Clark Street, and on Columbia Heights between Middagh and Vine Streets, on Wednesday, July 18th.

Of particular note for locals — They are taking over parking spots today, July 17th, in advance:

As per our permit with the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting of New York City, we will be holding parking in advance for shoot on Tuesday, July 17th, 2007. We will be clearing some parking on Columbia Heights between Pierrepont and Orange Streets on the east side of the street, and on the north side of Clark St. between Columbia Heights and Willow St. for equipment trucks. We will also be clearing some parking on the east side of Cadman Plaza West, to stage our campers and on both sides of Columbia Heights between Middagh and Vine Streets for picture.

Also, watch out for roving bands of angry interns with clipboards telling you not to walk down the street. If you have any questions, concerns, or special needs, contact the Locations Department at 212-886-6850.

Filming for "The Wackness", starring Ben Kingsley and directed by Jonathan Levine was not originally slated for the corner of Henry and Remsen Streets in Brooklyn Heights, but filming has taken over that corner today.

UPDATE: A call to the production company confirms that "The Wackness" is indeed filming at Henry and Remsen. The project, which is in the first week of production, began filming late Wednesday night on Columbia Heights.

Si torna a parlare di Mary-Kate Olsen, una delle due ex-gemelline prodigio della tv e del cinema a stelle e strisce. Dopo i problemi di anoressia, i ricoveri per disintossicarsi dalla cocaina, la presunta adesione a Scientology, la giovane attrice tornerà sul grande schermo con "The Wackness" (La Stravaganza). Pare che nel film Mary-Kate, 21 anni, bacerà appassionatamente Ben Kingsley, che di anni ne ha 63.



"C'è una scena molto passionale nel film, che abbiamo girato la scorsa settimana - ha dichiarato in un'intervista Kingsley, premio Oscar nel 1983 come miglior attore protagonista per "Gandhi". "E' andata davvero bene e lei è stata molto concentrata - ha proseguito l'attore - E' stata molto brava, molto professionale. E' stata proprio meravigliosa".

Mary-Kate Olsen, fin dall'infanzia, ha fatto coppia fissa con la sorella gemella Ashley, diventando una coppia d'oro dello showbusiness Usa fra programmi tv, pubblicità e film. Nel 2004 le due sono state insignite della prestigiosa stella sulla "Hollywood Wak of Fame".


In "The Wackness", che uscirà il prossimo anno, Kingsley interpreta un terapista che diventa amico di uno spacciatore (Josh Peck): fra i due si instaura un "baratto" di droga in cambio di sedute. La Olsen è uno dei clienti dello spacciatore.

Attesa dei fan per il ritorno sul grande schermo della graziosa ex-biondina (tempo fa si era scurita i capelli) e soprattutto sulla scena "caldissima" con un'iconja del cinema come Kingsley, oltre quarant'anni più anziano della collega. Quando è stato chiesto all'attore se la scena farà discutere, l'ex-Ghandi ha risposto: "Sono sicuro di sì. Il suo personaggio è un grande spirito libero, molto seducente".

The Wackness, il trailer

Uscirà il 3 Luglio The Wackness, film di cui vi abbiamo già parlato tempo fa. Presentato all’ultimo Sundance Film Festival, diretto da Jonathan Levine, con il grande Ben Kingsley, Olivia Thirlby, Method Man, Josh Peck, Mary-Kate Olsen, Famke Janssen e Peter Conboy, il film, ambientato nel 1994, metterà in luce il ‘particolare’ rapporto tra uno psichiatra e uno spacciatore… fino all’arrivo della figlia dello psichiatra, che si innamorerà ovviamente dello spacciatore.

Molto interessante il trailer, che troverete dopo il saltino, per un film che ci auguriamo possa arrivare anche in Italia.
